Nice, congrats! I just put an Android Auto head unit in my ‘03 and added a backup cam for my kid, who’s learning to drive. They wanted the ‘03 over any newer car! Was the install easy for this? My ‘03 has a weird bracket, so I had to drill new holes to fit the head unit, and it’s still a bit too narrow by 1/8 inch on each side.
I want to do this too!

Is the USB plug USB-A or USB-C? And if it’s USB-A, can it be converted to USB-C?
@Zayne
It’s USB-A, which is OEM. The USB-C versions are aftermarket and clones. OEM USB-C ports are actually smaller in size.
I did this on my 2016. Swapping out the USB plug was the hardest part—you need tiny hands

True story. It wasn’t any easier on my ‘15!

I converted my ‘13. Works well, but the GPS sometimes loses reception. I think it’s because the antenna fell. I was supposed to tape it high under the dash with double-sided tape.
Where did you get the kit?

How about a 2013 Edge with a 4.2-inch screen and Sync 1?

Aftermarket is probably a better choice—Sync 3 on that model would be pricey.

Any aftermarket units you recommend?
I definitely want to upgrade to Sync 3! How much did it cost you?

What’s the difference between the Sync 3 and Sync 4 screens?
