Will struts from a 97-02 Expedition fit my 02 Explorer… has anyone tried this?

@Bevan
Sorry, but ‘both use struts and shocks’ doesn’t actually make sense for these vehicles, and it’s incorrect. You really shouldn’t mess around with parts that don’t fit right.

The Explorer has shocks and struts on different axles, genius. That’s why I asked if they’re interchangeable. Maybe brush up on this before calling me clueless.

@Bevan
Pretty sure the Explorer doesn’t have struts… it’s just torsion bars and shocks.

@Bevan
You’re talking about the front, right? Suspension parts don’t interchange if the part numbers differ. This isn’t rocket science!

Oh, and calling me names… dude, who’s the one buying random parts? New, correct parts aren’t even expensive. I don’t know why you’re having trouble just getting the right ones.

@Zeek
Pretty bold for someone who probably struggles to put on their own socks. I asked because I’ve only worked on Chevy and never Ford before, plus I mostly work on engines, not suspension. I got my answer from others here, so I’m good. Forums are meant for questions, dude.

@Bevan
Well, I’ve done all the work on my Explorers myself for over 26 years. What does that say about taking advice from someone who’s trying to buy the wrong part online?

If you want real advice, try Explorerforum. They’ll straighten you out better than I can.

@Zeek
Sure, buddy. You’re actually entertaining, so keep talking.

Haha, glad to be of service!

Probably won’t work, but hey, if you try it, let us know!
