What Do You Think of the Electric Explorer?

Here’s a look at the electric Explorer. Is this new EV version a welcome addition? What are your thoughts?

Is this really called the eExplorer? They could’ve named it something better like Prospector, Surveyor, Traveler, or Discoverer. Those are solid names, don’t you think?

Yes, it is.

Honestly, the name sounds more like a torture or…uh, a device you’d find in some adult store.

It looks like a weird mix of an Escape and an Explorer. Why couldn’t they stick with the classic Explorer design, like they did with the F-150 Lightning?

Is this just a concept car?

No, it’s the new European-market Explorer. Honestly, they should’ve given it a completely different name.

Nope, not a fan.

Jimmy, your imagination is something else.

Aside from disliking how it looks, I’d never buy an EV in my climate (Canadian prairies). I work at a dealership, and I often see EVs in the service bay thawing out or on tow trucks heading to gas stations for a charge. Not practical here.

@Vic
That’s interesting because Norwegians, who have a similar climate, don’t seem to have these issues. About 82% of new cars sold there are electric. But yeah, they’re not perfect for everyone’s needs yet.

@Jade
That’s surprising! Do you know if most Norwegians park their cars inside garages or leave them outside? Around here, most of the frozen EVs I see probably belong to people who park outside. It’s weird because a lot of homes have garages, but people just don’t use them for cars!
