Sync System Completely Unresponsive – Need Help!

I’m struggling with my Ford Sync system and could use some guidance. Here’s the issue:

  • When I push the phone button, it just says ‘no phone,’ and there are no options to add a phone.
  • Plugging into the USB doesn’t prompt anything.
  • Sync menus are completely unresponsive; all I can adjust are the clock minutes and hours.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried a system reset?

I’ve tried pulling fuses, but nothing has worked. How do I do a reset?

You can perform a master reset through the Sync menu. Check this link for instructions:

Forgot to mention—it’s Sync Gen 1 from 2010. No such menu exists for my version.

No problem. Try finding the reset method for your specific Sync version here:

Are you referring to phone connectivity, Bluetooth, or both? I have an '09 with Sync 1.2.1 and can refer to the manual if it helps.

Both phone and Bluetooth. When I push the phone button, it just says ‘no phone,’ and scrolling through the options doesn’t bring up the menu it’s supposed to.

For Wireless Android Auto, you need both Bluetooth and WiFi enabled on your phone. Double-check that WiFi is on.

This isn’t related to Android Auto. The Sync system itself is completely gone. The menu button only lets me adjust the clock—nothing else.

There’s no Sync menu at all. The phone button says ‘no phone,’ and the arrows only bring up ‘call Sirius at this number.’
