Slow leak? Service needed?

Changing the oil on 2018 Sport(135k), and I see discoloration on the bottom of the engine. What is this telling me? Is service needed(doesn’t seem to be actively leaking), is a big repair coming my way?

My 2019 XLT has the same issue with 304,000 miles on it. It’s been like this for a while. It doesn’t really drip, but it stays a bit wet. I check the oil, coolant, and transmission fluid regularly, and they all seem okay.

I’m waiting for advice from someone who knows more about this.

Be sure to check your transmission fluid level. I had a similar issue with my 2014 Sport. The leak was from the PTU, especially the output shaft seal for the passenger CV axle. When that seal is bad, it can cause a transmission fluid leak.

Interesting, this is closer to the drivers side than passenger. Must be a diff from the 14 to 18…Ive never changed trans fluid and am a little afraid to now…

It seems like there might be a very slow leak, either from the transmission fluid or the engine oil. It doesn’t seem like a big issue right now, but you should keep an eye on it and check those fluid levels regularly.
