WTF, I’ve never seen this before. Looks more like an Edge or Escape than an Explorer.

That’s because it’s based on the VW ID.4.

Good to know. I’m in the States, so I had no idea.

@Mai
The VW version is sold in the US, but this one looks way better.

Looks kinda like a fancy Kia Soul.

I actually like how the Explorer version looks. We probably don’t need it here with the Mach-E around, though.

In Europe, people call it the ‘better ID.4.’ VW plays it safe with their designs, but Ford’s got a bit more personality. People don’t buy cars they feel ‘meh’ about; they buy ones they love.

@Macon
I see that, but I’m not a fan of Ford’s current screen layout or the front grille on this one. The F150 Lightning’s look is way better.

Probably haven’t seen one because no one’s buying them.

Maybe because they don’t sell it as the Explorer EV in the US.

I’ve seen plenty of ID.4s. It’s the same car, just not with the Explorer badge.

Why’s the steering wheel on the passenger side? Hope you got a discount for that. :wink:

What’s the range? And what do you mostly use it for?

The range is over 600km. I use it as my daily commuter, mostly for work.

Can it use Tesla Superchargers?

Yep, it has the Supercharger port!

How’s the charging infrastructure where you are? Enough spots, and are they reliable?

It’s decent in Ireland, but we could use more investment. For now, the 600km range and charging at home mean I don’t have to rely on public chargers much.

How is it overall? I’m considering it for my next company car.

It’s fantastic. Solid on the road, very quiet, and super comfy. Definitely recommend giving it a test drive!
