Picked up my new Ford Explorer EV!

Here’s my new ride! First impressions: absolutely love it so far. It’s smooth, quiet, and feels like it was made for me. What do you all think?

My American eyes weren’t supposed to see this! Looks super interesting.

Got mine last week, and I’m loving it! Best car I’ve ever owned. Real head-turner too since there aren’t many on the road yet. Downsides?

  1. FordPass app is clunky.
  2. Can’t figure out how to adjust the door locking settings.
  3. Small trunk space.
  4. No frunk, just a lot of stuff under the hood.

That said, it’s awesome. Drives like a dream.

Looks amazing! I wish they’d bring this to the US, even if it had to go under a different name. Is it smaller than the Explorer here?

It’s basically a VW ID.4 with a Ford twist. Probably closer to the size of an Edge.

@Cedar
Yeah, it was supposed to be made in the same plant that used to produce the Edge before they pulled the plug.

What’s even happening with Ford? They sold their stake in Rivian, then turned around and bought a platform from VW, who also invested in Rivian. It’s so weird.

@Fallon
From what I heard, battery costs made the original plans too expensive. A lot of companies, not just Ford, are scaling back EV production because the initial demand from early adopters has slowed down.

@Fallon
EVs aren’t selling as well as they expected. It’s not just Ford—other brands are adjusting their production plans too.

@Fallon
Do you think this one will sell? Feels like it might flop.

The US version was supposed to have three rows, but this one doesn’t.

@Cedar
It’s actually smaller than the Escape.

Ford designed the look and tuning, but the platform is VW’s.

The drivetrain is VW, but everything else is Ford.

Pretty sure the software is VW too.

Looks way too small to have three rows like the US Explorer.

This could’ve been called the Edge EV.

WTF, I’ve never seen this before. Looks more like an Edge or Escape than an Explorer.

That’s because it’s based on the VW ID.4.
