You can get aftermarket toe links from Steeda. They’re stronger and have better adjustability than the recalled part, but they’re pricey.
What were your alignment specs from the last time?
Everything was in spec. I’ll have to find the paperwork to get the exact measurements, but it was all in the green.
If the rear tires are wearing on the outside, it’s likely you have too much toe-in or positive camber. Toe is usually the bigger factor.
That’s why I think the recalled toe link is the problem. I’m looking to see if anyone has replaced it with an upgraded one.
Get it checked. My dealer almost killed my family by not tightening the toe links. The rear end was so loose it destroyed a set of tires in a few hours.
I would never take my car to Ford. You’d have to be crazy. Plus, you always need to get an alignment after suspension work.
Who else should do recall work?
I have my personal mechanic handle it, unless it’s something super complex.
I recommend going to Ford. They know how to align these links, while most generic shops don’t.
That’s not happening. Once my vehicles leave the dealership, they don’t go back.
That’s likely your problem.
For anyone wondering, I posted on another forum and it looks like the alignment shop didn’t adjust the recalled part, which led to the tire issues. If you have the recalled link, make sure to tell your alignment tech it’s adjustable. Otherwise, you might have the same problem I did.
Lol, that’s not how forums work.
It worked though, you responded, which helps boost the post!
