Check out our new 2024 Explorer Timberline… any thoughts?

I’m surprised they went ahead with the collaboration with Justin after his DUI situation… but the car looks awesome.

The front end looks way better than the other 2024 models.

Nice ride… and you picked a great dealership! They always take care of their customers.

Yeah, this is my 6th Ford from Thors… they’re the best dealer for sure.

Looks hot.

Make sure you get it oil sprayed… helps prevent rust in the long run, especially up north.

It’s like spraying an oily coating on the car’s frame to protect it from rust.

@Weston
How long does it last though?

Usually around 2 years. There’s one called FluidFilm that’s pretty good. You might want to look up reviews. Just make sure to pressure wash underneath first if you do it yourself. It’s easier than using a rubber undercoating.

Is rubber undercoating a better option?

If I was doing a full frame-off restoration where I’d strip everything down, I’d probably use a rubber undercoating or even a paint meant for the undercarriage. It looks nice and offers protection.

But for a new car like your Explorer, I think oil spray is better. It’s easier, protects just as well, and doesn’t hide rust like rubber coatings can if they chip or crack over time.

Yeah, there are different types, but basically it’s an oil sprayed on the underside and inside areas like doors and lower panels to stop rust.

If you’re up north, it’s definitely worth doing.

Congrats on the new ride! Start washing it by hand from the beginning to keep that clear coat looking good.
