Anyone else dealing with interior rattles in their 2023 XLT?

My wife has a 2023 XLT, and we’ve been hearing interior rattles near the second row. The car only has 18k miles, but the rattles started around 6k miles. We’ve already taken it to the dealership three times, but they haven’t been much help.

Has anyone had a similar issue and can point me in the right direction to find the source? Every time I try to listen for the noise from the 3rd or 2nd row, it stops, making it hard to locate.

A lot of people on this forum have mentioned that the rear sunshades could be the cause of rattles.

Are you talking about the rear sunshades on the doors? My XLT doesn’t have those.

@Hadley
I was just making a suggestion, it could be something else.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll keep looking.

Could it be the rear seats? My rear passenger seat has been rattling, and it’s so annoying. Still haven’t figured out how to fix it.

Maybe that’s it. I’ll try pulling out the seats tonight and see if that helps. I’ll take it for a test drive after.

@Hadley
Please let us know what you find out!

I had a similar issue with my 2022 model. It turned out the felt covers under the car were causing the noise. I thought it was a wind leak at the B pillar, but it was actually the splash guard on the driver’s side.

@Galen
I just fixed the felt covers on all sides. My wife is out on a test drive now to see if that solved it.

I had this exact issue on my '22 model. It took almost two years and several visits to the dealership before they figured it out. It was loud enough to hear over the radio at highway speeds, and I thought it was a wind issue coming from the driver’s side pillar. I was about to trade it in if they couldn’t fix it!
