Has anyone here added subwoofers to an 05 Explorer? Where’s the best spot to run the wires?
Same as most cars. Run them along the floor, near the outside edges, using the wire channels.

Sorry if this is a dumb question… is there a video on this? I tried searching but I’m lost.
@Zane
Remove the door sill trim, and you’ll see a channel for the wires.

You can also route it through the headliner if your car doesn’t have curtain airbags.

I don’t usually recommend using the headliner. You’d have to bring the wire up and back down, which adds extra length. Plus, thicker wires like power cables or RCAs can be tricky to fit through the A-pillar trim, especially if you have sunroof drains. The floor route is easier—just remove a couple of trim panels, and there’s usually more space.

It really depends on the car and the setup you’re doing.

True. I’ve done something similar on both 2nd-gen and 5th-gen Explorers. In my experience, the floor route worked best, but there could be cases where wire channels are full or hard to access, making the headliner a better option.

The easiest way is to pull out all the trim on one side of the car. Once it’s removed, it’ll be clear where the wires should go.
