@Nile
If you do get an extended warranty, get a Ford ESP warranty from Flood or Lombard, not some random third-party junk.
@Nile
I always wait until I’m near the 3-year/36,000-mile mark before buying the extended warranty.
Buy it from Lombard Ford—it’s much cheaper. And never get a third-party warranty, only Ford Factory. It’s way easier to get repairs covered.
@Noor
Didn’t realize you could buy it later. That’s actually a great strategy. What does it cover, and how much does it cost?

Different coverage levels and deductibles. A third-party company tried to sell me a ‘Ford Partner’ plan for $175/month for 3 years—$6,800 total!
Instead, I got the Ford Factory Premium plan for $2,100 upfront for 3 years/36,000 miles. Huge savings, same coverage, no hassle.
Get a transmission/powertrain warranty. My 2020 Explorer needed a brand new transmission at 78k miles.
Thanks, everyone—this is all really helpful!
