Tips for improving the ride on my 2015 XLT with 125k miles?

I’ve noticed my car feels much bumpier lately. When switching lanes, I can really feel the reflective lane markers, and potholes or speed bumps are a lot more noticeable.

What can I do to improve the ride? I know it won’t feel like new again, but it’s starting to remind me of my old 2000 Grand Cherokee, and that thing was ancient!

If the struts haven’t been replaced in the last 50k miles, they’re likely the issue. Also, have your bushings and sway bar end links checked. Don’t forget to make sure your tires are properly inflated.

@Fife
Thanks for the advice! I’m planning to replace the tires ASAP. I’ve already started making a list of things I need to address.

Replace the struts, strut mounts, and lower control arm bushings. When you get new tires, make sure to get an alignment as well.

Thank you! That’s really helpful.

Do you have a ballpark estimate for the cost? And should I be looking at replacing the shocks too?

Start with new tires.

Tires are on the list, but I’m also considering replacing the struts and shocks.
