Ford Explorer EV hits the UK… better battery, longer range… worth it?

Sadly, £40-50k is the norm for non-basic EVs now. It’s not cheap, but it’s not crazy either for the range it offers.

Honestly, this looks way better than the Mustang Mach-E. If this was sold in the US, I think it’d steal buyers from the Mustang.

Only if they make it longer. Right now, it’s closer in size to a Bronco Sport. Calling it Escape EV would’ve made more sense.

Totally agree. They could’ve gone with a new name or Kuga EV instead. Explorer feels random.

Ford says the Explorer name nods to their American heritage and spirit of adventure… whatever that means.

Ford’s been on this ‘Unlearn’ campaign for a while, trying to play up the American angle.

Ford is working on another EV Explorer that’s closer in size to the gas version. That one might actually replace the Edge in North America.
