Ford Explorer 08

I think the “Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor” might be causing the other error codes. The vehicle runs okay but sometimes stalls or acts up, both while driving and idling. Any advice on where to begin fixing this?

I’d suggest checking ground line connected to S100 and the fuse F42. These systems seem to be connected through that ground and have a significant current draw. The “Circuit” codes indicate a connection problem between these systems and the computer. Also, if the MAF sensor intermittently disconnects, it could cause stalling.

The G and H codes likely refer to the oxygen sensor heater ground paths.

I’ve heard that on older Explorers, a melted harness can sometimes cause these issues. AutoZone might try to sell him four oxygen sensors, but it could be worth checking the harness first. lol

F is for the EGR. The fuel rail pressure sensor is the only part not using the same ground connection.

Don’t forget to check your EGR and purge valves also.

& don’t forget that little pack of pricey silicone grease they’ll try to sell you when you’re finished.

I was getting those issues at different times and for varying lengths. I replaced a lot of parts, but it turned out to be a bad fuel injector. A diagnostic tool is pretty affordable on the Jungle website.
