Explorer vs VW Tiguan… which is the better lease deal?

I’m trying to decide between leasing an Explorer or a Tiguan. VW has a good offer right now: VW Lease Offers.

Anyone know the best lease deals currently available for the Explorer? Looking for a 2-year, 10,000-mile option.

The Tiguan is significantly cheaper, like $15k less. But honestly, it’s not a true 3-row SUV. The third row feels like it was just crammed in there—it’s not very practical.

My Explorer smoked my friend’s mom’s Tiguan in a race. That’s all you need to know.

I own both—a 2020 Tiguan SE and a 2024 Explorer XLT. They’re both great, but they’re not in the same size category. The Explorer is much bigger. If you’re considering VW and need more space, look at the Atlas. The Tiguan does have a surprising amount of interior space for its size, though.

No thanks to that Nazi wagon.

If we’re going down that road, Henry Ford was a huge anti-Semite and supported Hitler’s early efforts. So, you’re not escaping that history with an Explorer either. Still, I wouldn’t buy a VW, but not for this reason.

:joy: Fair enough.

FYI: Volkswagen literally translates to ‘The People’s Car’ and was a Nazi state-owned enterprise back in the day. Founded under Hitler’s regime.

Yeah, but let’s not pretend everything from that time is inherently evil. Holocaust = bad. VW cars = just cars.

Got it, man. Noted. I’ll skip VW. Back to Explorer—what’s the best lease offer for 2 years and 10,000 miles?
