Yep, often around 70-75% of what we’d make on a regular customer-paid repair.
Another option—tell the dealer near you that you found the vehicle at another dealership and ask if they can do a dealer swap to bring it closer. They might be willing to bring it in for you so you can buy it locally.

I could, but that doesn’t seem fair to the second sales rep who’s been helpful and showed me the car. He deserves the sale since he took the time to explain everything. I don’t mind ordering from either dealer.

I totally get that, and you’re right. You could mention your concern to the local dealer—they might work something out, but either way, it’s good you’re considering the salesperson who put in the time.
