Anyone have ideas for a lift kit for a 2019 Explorer?

I’m moving to the beach in a few months, and I’ve got 4WD in my Explorer. The few times I’ve been off-road, I’ve bottomed out at least once or twice. I’m looking for a small lift kit for the Explorer, but I’m not having much luck finding anything. Thought I’d ask here to see if anyone has a solution or knows where I can find something.

The 4th gen Explorer ('11 to '19) wasn’t built with lift kit support in mind. Adding 4WD didn’t change Ford’s design.

But if you Google it, you’ll find a few lift kits for this vehicle. They usually don’t go over 2 inches, so they’re easier to install.

I’m sure you’ll look into this more and check for other things like resizing wheels or suspension concerns.

Actually, it’s the 5th gen you’re talking about.

For my wife’s 2019 Sport, we went with a Truxx lift kit that we found on Amazon. Just make sure to get a 4-wheel alignment afterward.

You’ll need to detach the existing shocks because the base parts need to go in their place.

It’s a bit of work, so I had a shop do the install. It’s been great since then.

Here’s the kit we used: 102015 - 2.5" Front & 1.5" Rear Lift Kit for Ford Explorer (2011-2019) - works for all trims including the Police Interceptor - 2WD/4WD - all engines.

Yo, is this in Texas?

It’s the lift kit compatible with Ford Explorer (2011-2019) - works with all trims, including the Police Interceptor - 2WD/4WD - all engines.

It’s actually in NC! Freeman State Park near Wilmington.

Can you really just drive your car on the beach like that and have a bonfire? I guess you can since you shared a picture, right?

Ever been to Huntington Beach in California?

We have a seasonal pass to drive on the beach from October to April. The time we went out, we reserved a campsite so we could stay overnight. I’ve never been out of NC for camping, but I’m planning to hit the trails next summer.

Whoops, my bad! Good catch. 2019 was the last year for the 5th gen Explorer. The 6th gen started in 2020.
