Anyone else having issues adding a Google account to their 2025 Ford Explorer?

Hi all, I just got a 2025 Explorer Active, but I can’t add a Google account to my profile. When I tap “Add Account,” it just stays blank. I also noticed that Google Play, Alexa, and YouTube aren’t showing up in the apps menu.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips would be great!

The person who sold you the car should’ve helped you set that up before you drove off. That’s on the dealership for not helping.

Anyway, try doing a hard reset of the system and see if that fixes it. That’s all I can think of right now.

To be fair, when I got my 2020 XLT, the dealer offered to help set up the tech. But I like doing that kind of thing myself—it’s part of the fun for me when I get something new, whether it’s a car, phone, or whatever. I paid for the newness, and I like going through the setup on my own.

@Mal
I get that. I’m kind of the same way, but when I got my Explorer, I let the salesperson set it up for me. It was nice to have the help.

Wait, dealerships actually do that? When I bought my 2020 Limited back in July 2020, we just made sure there were no scratches, and they handed me the keys and paperwork. That was it.

Yeah, it really depends on the dealership and who you’re dealing with. Some are more helpful than others.

Honestly, I’d take it back to the dealership and see if the service department can sort it out.

Did you make sure to create a profile first? That might be the issue.
